Collection: Weed matting

Did you know a lot of our vegetables are grown in plastic?

It's no wonder our food chain is contaminated with microplastics. It's time for a change.

This is not a new idea; it has been used in New Zealand, but I just made a batch for my daughter's partner, Ben, from Wildwood Organics, and since it's planting time, I'm offering it to you, too!

  • It holds 30% more water in the soil
  • slugs and snails hate it
  • Regulates soil temperature
  • Composts overtime.
  • Adds nutrients to the soil
  • 100% renewable

Can be used in landscape gardens, under mulch or stones. Anywhere you might have used polypropylene before.  However, be aware it does compost over time, so will need to be replaced. Go thicker if possible.

When it does break down it adds nutrients to the soil and creates a beautiful layer of mycelium.
